Uwe Dähn

Uwe Dähn (born August 5, 1950 in Greifswald ) is a German photographer and former politician ( Neues Forum , Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ). From 1995 to 1999 he was a member of the Berlin House of Representatives .

biography

Uwe Dähn grew up in East Berlin . After graduating from the Polytechnic High School, he completed vocational training as a skilled worker for film production. From 1969 to 1976 he studied political economy at the universities in Leipzig and Berlin with a diploma. He then worked at the Central Institute for Economics of the Academy of Sciences of the GDR until 1978 . He lost his job after activities and a. books forbidden in the GDR were discovered. After that, he initially worked in various simple professions. From 1982 to 1984 he was dramaturge at the Schwedt Theater .

He then got involved in the GDR peace movement. After the turning point and peaceful revolution in the GDR , he was a member of the round table for the New Forum . Dähn then officiated from 1990 to 1992 as the district councilor for culture in the Mitte district . In 1993 and 1994 he was federal manager of the Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen party. He was elected to parliament in the 1995 election for the Berlin House of Representatives, to which he was a member until 1999. In 2000 and 2001 he directed the Berlin Theaterhaus Mitte . He has been a rickshaw driver since 2002 .
