Uwe Ehret (born September 14, 1955 - † October 11, 2013 ) was a German soccer player and soccer coach . Ehret was the coach of SC Freiburg from April to June 1989 and August to November 1989 .

Player career

Ehret started playing football at the request of his father when he was seven at SC Freiburg.

After his youth with this, he switched to the contract amateurs of the Stuttgarter Kickers. This was followed by seasons at FC Konstanz and again at SC Freiburg.

Coaching career

Before Ehret took over the first team at SC Freiburg as an interim coach in April 1989 at the age of 34, he was assistant coach and coach of the SC Freiburg amateur team. After the resignation of Fritz Fuchs , he took over the coaching position of the first team until the end of the season and finished the 2nd Bundesliga season 1988/89 in 5th place. After Lorenz-Günther Köstner's surprising resignation two months after the start of the 2nd Bundesliga season in 1989/90 , Ehret again took over the position of coach from August 1989 to the end of November 1990.

Since Ehret did not have the necessary qualifications, he was replaced by Bernd Hoss in November 1990 . Ehret then moved to Freiburg FC , with whom he was promoted to the league, twice won the South Baden club cup and reached the round of 16 of the DFB Cup in 1991/92 . During his time at Freiburg FC, Ehret trained Christian Streich and Klemens Hartenbach .

After his time at Freiburg FC, Ehret moved to FC Steinen-Höllstein in 1997 . There followed promotions and relegations in the league until he moved to FC Teningen in 2000 . This was followed by positions at VF Herbolzheim and from 2009 at SV Biengen until he had to resign from his position as a coach due to illness in 2010.
