Uwe Grauer (born January 1, 1970 in Dortmund ) is a German football player and coach .
Career
player
After Grauer had played in his youth at BW Büderich and Hammer SpVg and graduated from Mariengymnasium Werl in 1989 , he made his debut for Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga on April 20, 1991 in a 3-0 home defeat against Eintracht Frankfurt . Grauer was only used sporadically in the early years, it wasn't until the end of the 1992/93 season that he was able to fight for a regular place. In the first leg of the final for the UEFA Cup on May 5, 1993, he was in the team that lost 3-1 to Juventus . During the second leg he just sat on the bench. He had lost his regular place due to repeated injuries at the beginning of the following season, in which he only made five appearances. In 1994, Grauer moved to league competitor Bayer Uerdingen . Here he was a regular player straight away. Even when the club had to relegate bottom of the league in 1996, he remained loyal to the club.
Only when he missed relegation in the second division in 1999 did he leave the club. Grauer went to SSV Ulm 1846 , which surprisingly managed to march straight through from the Regionalliga Süd to the Bundesliga. At first he had a regular place, which he lost after being sent off in the game against Hansa Rostock . It was not until the 19th match day that he was back in the starting line-up, playing a total of 16 Bundesliga games for the "Spatzen". Despite the missed relegation, he stayed in Ulm, but could not avoid relegation. Grauer then moved to the Regionalliga Nord for SG Wattenscheid 09 , where he was a regular player for three years. He then went to the amateur team of FC Schalke 04 for a year . Between 2005 and 2008 he played for the association league club Westfalia Rhynern in Hamm, where he was the player's coach.
Trainer
In summer 2008 he returned to FC Schalke 04, where he coached the U-12 team in the 2008/09 season and was assistant coach of the U-19 team from 2009 to 2014. In the 2010/11 season he also played for SC Neheim . In the 2014/15 season he coached the U-17 team at FC Schalke 04 and in the 2015/16 season he was assistant coach of the second team at 1. FC Köln . In November 2016, Grauer became the coach of Arminia Bielefeld's U-19 team .
