Uwe Hüffer

Uwe Hüffer (born December 5, 1939 in Lüneburg ; † December 9, 2012 ) was a German legal scholar .

Life

After studying law and the clerkship Hüffer 1970 with a comparative study of recourse against the tort tortfeasor acting on compensation of third parties for Dr. iur. PhD. In 1974 he qualified as a professor at the University of Heidelberg on the subject of performance disruptions caused by creditors' actions . In the 1977 winter semester, Hüffer became a scientific adviser, and in 1980 a full professor at Saarbrücken University . In 1985 he moved to the Ruhr University Bochum , where he held the chair for civil law, commercial law, business law including mining law and energy law until his retirement in 2005.

From 1992 onwards, Hüffer was a part-time judge at the Hamm Higher Regional Court . After his retirement he worked at the Mannheim office of the law firm Schilling, Zutt & Anschütz and was also a member of the firm's supervisory board. He was the founder and, up to the 10th edition, author of the best-selling commentary on the German Stock Corporation Act , which his student Jens Koch continued after his death .
