Uwe Harting (* 1959 in Minden ) is a former German handball player . The backcourt player played for TSV Grün-Weiß Dankersen and TBV Lemgo in the Bundesliga and was considered a defense specialist.

Career

Harting became German champions in 1978 with the A-youth of TSV Grün-Weiß Dankersen . Then he joined the Bundesliga reserve of the club, which played in the major league. In the first year the promotion to the then second class regional league was achieved. In 1980 he moved to class competitor TBV Lemgo and in the first year did not celebrate a promotion in the true sense, but with second place in the table the club qualified for the newly created 2nd Bundesliga . To play the playoffs for promotion to the Bundesliga, one point was missing from OSC Dortmund . Two years later he was promoted to the Bundesliga and returned to Dankersen. There Harting had to be content with a reservist role and in 1985 moved again to Lemgo. After one season he joined the regional division Union 73 Bad Salzuflen . The second division promotion was missed in the relegation due to a goal and in October 1987 the separation followed. Harting moved to the upper division Spvg Versmold and was able to celebrate the promotion right away. At the end of the 1991/92 season he ended his career in the first team with the second division promotion and became player-coach of the second team in the district league. As a result, however, he also ran again and again for the first team.

His brother Frank was also a handball player in the Bundesliga and played for the German national team . Both played together for Grün-Weiß Dankersen from 1983 to 1985.
