Uwe Hellmann

Uwe Hellmann (* 1955 in Lübbecke ) is a German legal scholar . He holds the chair for criminal law , in particular commercial criminal law , at the University of Potsdam and has written as a specialist author a. a. several textbooks and case books .

Live and act

Uwe Hellmann, born in Westphalia , studied law at Bielefeld University as part of a one-step legal training . In 1981 he passed the final exam at the Judicial Examination Office in Düsseldorf. Until 1986, Hellmann worked as a research assistant at the chair of Hans Achenbach at the University of Osnabrück , where he in 1986 with the signature , the applicability of civil justification in criminal law for Dr. iur. doctorate and then worked as a university assistant. 1992 habilitation Hellmann Osnabrueck with Scripture The by-law of criminal procedure of the Tax Code , the instructor for Criminal law and criminal tax law , he was awarded. He accepted the latter appointment and in August 1994 was appointed to the chair for criminal law, in particular white-collar crime, at the University of Potsdam, where he offers courses on general and special sections of criminal law, criminal procedural law, commercial and tax criminal law as well as European and international criminal law.

Hellmann's research focuses on property and property criminal law, commercial and tax criminal law as well as criminal procedural law. He has published textbooks on the general and special sections of the Criminal Code (StGB), commercial criminal law and criminal procedure law. He also works on comments on the StGB and the tax code and is co-editor of several series of publications. Hellmann was Dean of the Law Faculty of the University of Potsdam, is a longstanding member of the university senate , and since October 2014 its chairman.

Hellmann is involved in several collaborations with foreign universities and is a member of the scientific advisory boards of various journals published in Russia. He is the chairman of the German representative office of the Association of Criminologists and Criminologists founded in Russia . On March 1, 2014, he was awarded the Femida legal award in Moscow , which has been awarded annually since 1995 by the Association of Russian Lawyers in coordination with the eleven leading associations of Russian lawyers. Hellmann is a member of the Supervisory Board of Business Keeper AG.
