Vítězslav Priehoda (born January 11, 1960 in Prievidza ) is a Slovak - Czech chess master .

Life

Priehoda grew up in Prievidza, his father is Slovak, his mother Czech. He lives in Prague . In 1989 he received the title of International Master . Priehoda came second at the Slovak Championship in 1983 in Nová Baňa , he was level on points with Róbert Tibenský , but his rating was 0.25 worse. He won the 1989 Banícky kahanec tournament in Prievidta. At the championship of Slovakia in 2001 in Prešov he was second behind Ramil Chasangatin , but was the best Slovak champion in Slovakia. Since November 2006 he has been on the FIDE list of the Czech Republic. Priehoda won the 2009 tournament in Prievidza, in the same year he won the IM tournament Hornonitrianský pohár in Bojnice. He also won this tournament in 2010. At the 26th European Club Cup in Plovdiv in October 2010, he played for the Slovakian champions ŠK Prievidza . He narrowly missed the grandmaster norm there, but at least beat Konstantin Landa , who had an Elo rating of 2611. Priehoda's Elo number is 2344 (as of October 2019), in January 1993 he reached his highest Elo number of 2440.
