The defending champion was César Salazar , who also competed this year. In last year's final he defeated his twin brother Arturo Salazar , whom he defeated 3-0 this time in the opening round. The Colombian Miguel Ángel Rodríguez won the tournament with 11: 5, 9:11, 11: 8 and 11: 0 against Stephen Coppinger from South Africa. For Rodríguez it was the second title at the Sporta Open after 2009.
