Products
For a long time, the characteristic feature of the diesel engine range was the use of individual, free-standing, dry cylinder liners , each of which had either its own cylinder head for each cylinder or a common cylinder head. This modularization enabled great flexibility in the development of engines with different numbers of cylinders in the sense of a construction kit .
In 1988 Land Rover used a 2.4 liter VM Motori diesel engine in the Range Rover . This project ran under the project name "Beaver". The Rover 2400 SD Turbo , built from 1982 to 1985, also had a diesel engine made in Italy.
The company's customers include Chrysler , Ford , LTI , General Motors , Alfa Romeo and Rover . So is z. B. the Jeep Wrangler JK (from 2007) with a 2.8-liter VM diesel engine. The Chrysler Voyager type "ES" and "GS" were also manufactured in Austria with a VM engine for the European market.
For the Maserati Ghibli (Tipo M157) , which came onto the market in August 2013, VM Motori contributes the 3.0-liter six-cylinder diesel engine with 275 hp and 600 Nm torque.
