VN3 is the name of an armored wheeled vehicle used by the land forces of the Chinese People's Liberation Army . The vehicle was developed by the Chinese company Norinco , but has strong similarities to vehicles from Panhard ( VBL ) and Mowag ( Eagle III ). The vehicle was presented to the public for the first time in 2007 .

Versions

All construction methods of the vehicle have a welded steel shell, which is supposed to protect the crew from fire by small-caliber weapons, shrapnel and anti-rifle mines.

In the standard version, the VN3 has a turret with 12.7 mm TMG or 14.5 mm TMG (turret machine gun), in which the gunner can find space. The other crew also include: Commander , driver and two scouts .

The vehicle can also be used as a troop transport, but this version does not have a tower and can accommodate eight riflemen in addition to the commander and driver .

An amphibious variant of the wheeled armored vehicle was equipped with HJ-8 anti-tank guided missiles .

Little is known at the moment about a larger type of vehicle equipped with a 30 mm BMK . However, the turret is very similar to the turret of the air-transportable armored personnel carrier ZLC 2000.
