Career

Václav Kočí began his career as a hockey player in the youth department of HC Liberec , for whose professional team he made his debut in the second-rate first division in the 2000/01 season . In the following season, the defender rose with his team in the extra league , in which he gave two assists in 35 games. During his time in Liberec, he regularly collected match practice in the third-class 2nd league, in which he came to play with HC Děčín and HC Jablonec . From 2003 to 2005, the left shooter played for HC Slovan Ústí nad Labem in the first division, and in the 2003/04 season he was also on the ice in three games for HC České Budějovice in the Extraliga.

In the 2005/06 season Kočí ran parallel for HC Chemopetrol Litvínov in the Extraliga and the SK Kadaň in the 1st division. He then spent two seasons with his ex-club from Liberec in the Extraliga, before he was signed for the 2008/09 season by BK Mladá Boleslav , for which he was used in two games during the 2006/07 season, as this was still second rate. In the summer of 2009 the Czech joined HC Pardubice , with whom he became Czech champion in the 2009/10 season . He was able to repeat this success with the HCP 2012, adding 8 scorer points in 19 playoff games to this success - a record in his career.

From the beginning of the 2012/13 season Kočí was one of the captains of HC Pardubice. During the 2014/15 season, his performance decreased, so that at the end of December 2014 he was loaned to BK Mladá Boleslav . Before the following season he received a new contract with BK Mladá Boleslav, but came due to injury only on three missions in the entire season. Before the following season he was loaned to HC Benátky nad Jizerou and completed 50 season games for this.
