Vahid Selimovic (born April 3, 1997 in Luxembourg ) is a Luxembourg football player with Serbian roots who plays for OFI Crete in Greece .

Career

Selimovic played in Etzella Ettelbrück's youth until 2010 and then moved to the “Center de Formation” of FC Metz .

Active area

At the beginning of 2015 he played for the reserve team of FC Metz for the first time and was a permanent member of the professional team from the 2017/18 season.
In Ligue 2 he played a total of 13 games before moving to first division team Apollon Limassol in the Cypriot First Division during the 2018/19 winter break .
In August 2020 he then signed a contract with the Greek first division club OFI Crete .

National team

The central defender played a test match for the Serbian U-19s against Bulgaria on February 24, 2016 (2-0).

In March 2019 he was called up to the squad of the Luxembourg senior team for the first time and on June 2, 2019 he made his debut in the friendly against Madagascar (3: 3), where the central defender promptly scored the goal to make it 2: 3. Selimovic played number two a few days later in the European Championship qualifier in Lithuania (1: 1).
