Valérie Knoll

Valérie Knoll  (* 1978  in Basel ) is a curator and has been the director of the Kunsthalle Bern since April 2015 .

Life

After studying art history and literary studies in Basel and Vienna , Valérie Knoll wrote as a correspondent for the New York magazine Artforum International . From 2010 to 2015 she directed the art hall in Lüneburg, initially together with Hannes Loichinger and later with Stefanie Kleefeld. During this time she curated solo exhibitions, group exhibitions and projects with u. a. participating artists Michael Krebber , Merlin Carpenter, Amelie von Wulffen , Loretta Fahrenholz, Nina Könnemann, Karen Kilimnik, Marc Camille Chaimowicz, Wolfgang Breuer, Tobias Kaspar, Vittorio Brodmann, Megan Francis Sullivan,Paul Thek , Adam Linder, John Dogg, Kerstin Cmelka, Alexander Hempel, Art Club 2000.

In 2015 Knoll was appointed the first female director of the Kunsthalle Bern. Since then she has curated solo and group exhibitions with u. a. Verena Dengler, Michael Krebber , Megan Francis Sullivan, Vittorio Brodmann, Ull Hohn, Wolfgang Breuer, Cosima von Bonin , Stefan Burger, Merlin Carpenter, John Armleder , Bianca Baldi, Anita Leisz, Park McArthur, Tom Burr, Manuel Burgener, Edit Oderbolz, Magali Reus, Amelie von Wulffen , Lutz Bacher , Heimo Zobernig , Vaclav Pozarek, Vern Blosum , Joseph Zehrer , Leidy Churchman, Michaela Eichwald, Julie Verhoeven, Danny McDonald, Bernadette Corporation, Jacqueline de Jong , Chris Kraus , Josef Strau, Annette Wehrmann .
