Vale de Prados is a municipality ( freguesia ) in the Portuguese district of Macedo de Cavaleiros . It has 431 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).

history

The place received its first small city rights in 1227, and in 1287 King D. Dinis Vale de Prados gave it full city rights and made it the seat of an administrative district.

1453 the place is noted as a taxable village of the monastery São Salvador of Castro de Avelãs .

King D. Manuel renewed the town charter in 1510.

In the course of the administrative reforms after the Liberal Revolution in 1821 , the Vale de Prados district was dissolved in 1836. At first it was a municipality in the district of Cortiços , after its dissolution in 1849 Vale de Prados came to Macedo de Cavaleiros.
