Valentin Reuschl
Johann Valentin Reuschl (Reuschel, Reischl) († 1733 ) was a Bavarian painter of the Baroque and early Rococo periods . He came from Waldmünchen in the Upper Palatinate .
life and work
He painted the choir altar sheet for the Frauenkirche in Amberg , which depicts the body of Jesus on his mother's lap, as well as the altar sheets for the Holy Family and Mary's visit to Elisabeth for the Maria-Hilf-Kirche there , both in 1711. In the Vitus Church in Straubing that is altarpiece Holy Trinity painted by him, as well as in the local Franciscan church, the altarpiece Immaculate conception . In the church of St. Petrus in Wörth ad Donau , the three large ceiling paintings in the main nave are from him. They depict motifs from the life of the church patron Peter :
- Release of Peter from prison by the angel;
- Promise of the power of the keys to Peter through Jesus;
- Crucifixion of Peter;
In the medallions on the side there are events from the life of St. Depicted Peter.
In the parish church of Stamsried 110 wall and ceiling frescoes and emblems come from him.
In Essing Abbey he created numerous frescoes, including the representation of the foundation of the monastery on the ceiling of the nave.
