Valentin Trentin

Valentin Trentin (born October 1, 1948 in Arbon ; resident in Bischofszell ) is a former Swiss politician ( SP ).

biography

From 1955, Trentin lived in Suhr , Canton Aargau , where he attended primary school from 1955 to 1960 . From 1960 to 1964 followed four years at the district school in Gränichen . From 1964 to 1968 he attended the Wettingen teacher training college .

From 1968 to 1970 Trentin was a teacher at what was then the Spreitenbach auxiliary school . He then taught from 1971 to 1974 at the cantonal child observation station of the Königsfelden Psychiatric Clinic under P. Moor and studied curative education at the Institute for Special Psychology and Education in Basel . After a brief teaching activity at the secondary school in Rüfenach , Trentin studied two semesters at the Séctions Universitaires of the Sorbonne in 1974/75 . He obtained the secondary teacher license and worked from 1975 to 1982 as the main teacher at the secondary school in Rüfenach.

In 1980 Trentin joined the Brugg section of the Swiss Social Democratic Party. From 1982 to 1987 he was the full-time party secretary of the SP of the Canton of Aargau and a member of the party executive of the SP Switzerland. In Brugg, he led the SP city party as its president and was a member of the residents' council . He was also a member of the Brugg District School Council and until 1989 a member of the Grand Council of the Canton of Aargau. In 1996 he resigned from the Social Democratic Party because of differences in political orientation. From 2018 until the merger with Brugg in 2020 he was a local councilor (executive) in the municipality of Schinznach-Bad (Canton Aargau)

From 1988 to 1989 Trentin was an Associate Partner at CGZ Consulting Gruppe Zürich AG and later a delegate of the ICRC for a short time . After returning to Switzerland, he trained at the Institute for Applied Psychology (IAP) to become an in-house training manager. Subsequently he worked as a training manager in the paper industry. This was followed by a position as a personnel manager in a company for security electronics. Subsequently, he was special representative of the chairman of the board of directors of an airline that offered sightseeing and city flights with two DC-3s .

From 1998 to 2010 Trentin taught again. He was mainly involved in educational and security policy problem areas. He has been active as an author and ghostwriter since 2010.
