Valeria Chiaraviglio Ermácora (born April 9, 1989 in Santa Fe ) is an Argentine pole vaulter .

Athletic career

Valeria Chiaraviglio gained her first experience in international competitions at the Youth South American Championships 2004 in Guayaquil , where she won the silver medal with 3.60 m. A year later, she retired at the Youth World Championships in Marrakech as 18th in the qualification. In 2006 she won the gold medal at the Youth South American Championships in Caracas and finished fifth at the South American Games in Buenos Aires . In 2007 she finished fifth at the Junior South American Championships in São Paulo and ninth there at the Pan American Junior Championships. In 2008 she won the silver medal at the U23 South American Championships in Lima . Two years later she was eliminated from the South American Games in Medellín without crossing a height. In 2012 she was fifth at the Ibero-American Championships in Barquisimeto . In 2013 he won the silver medal at the South American Championships in Cartagena with 4.15 m. In 2014 she narrowly missed a medal in fourth place at the South American Games in Santiago de Chile . She also won the bronze medal at the Ibero-American Championships in São Paulo.

In 2015 she won the silver medal again with 4.10 m at the South American Championships in Lima. At the Pan American Games in Toronto , she finished ninth. In 2016 she won the bronze medal at the Ibero-American Championships in Rio de Janeiro , as well as at the South American Championships 2017 in Luque . At the Student World Games in Taipei , the student from the Universidad Nacional de Rosario took eighth place in the final.

So far, she has been the Argentine champion four times. Her older brother Germán Chiaraviglio is also a very successful pole vaulter and record holder in Argentina.
