Valmantas Budrys

Valmantas Budrys (born December 29, 1958 in Vilnius ; † February 16, 2015 ) was a Lithuanian doctor, neurologist and professor .

Life

After graduating from high school, Budrys studied medicine in 1983 and obtained his doctorate in 1989 as a candidate in medical sciences at Vilnius University . In 1992 he continued his education at the University Hospitals in Gothenburg and Linköping ( Sweden ) and from 1995 to 1996 at Loyola University Chicago in the USA. From 1988 he taught at the Medical Faculty of Vilnius University. From 1997 to 2001 he headed the Clinic for Neurology at Vilnius University and from 2002 was Director of the Neurology Center at the Clinic for Neurology and Neurosurgery ( Santariškės Clinics ). From 2007 he taught as a professor. He advised the Ministry of Health of Lithuania .

From 2002 Budrys headed the Lithuanian Association of Neurologists ( Lietuvos neurologų asociacija ). In 1997 he was co-founder and then editor-in-chief of the neurological journal “Neurologijos seminarai” ( Seminars in Neurology ). He published more than 100 scientific articles.

His grave is in the Antakalnis cemetery in Vilnius.
