Vanessa Braun (born January 9, 1998 in Saarlouis , Saarland ) is a German athlete in the T38 starting class , who specializes in short sprints and long jump . It also runs in the season .
career path
Vanessa Braun was a student at the Louis Braille School in Lebach , graduated from secondary school and in October 2016 began her work trials for an apprenticeship as an office management assistant .
Athletic career
Braun started doing sports through her teacher in 2010 and has been doing competitive sports since 2011.
In 2014 she won her first title at the IWAS World Junior Games as junior world champion in the 100 m and 200 m as well as with the 4 x 100 meter relay .
In 2015 Braun was U18 world champion in the long jump and U20 vice world champion in the over 100 m and U23 vice world champion in the 4 x 100 meter relay at the IWAS World Junior Games .
In 2016, Braun came third in the U23 class in the 100-meter run and fourth in the 200-meter run and long jump. Later she was nominated as a participant in her first Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , where she finished 13th in the 100-meter run with a personal best of 14.59 s and in the long jump. As a member of the 4 x 100 meter relay , she came in 4th place.
Vanessa Braun is with the TV Püttlingen / LA Team Saar , which she joined in 2013. She competes in the starting class T38 (athletes with ataxia ).
Honors
In 2014, Braun was honored by the VdK Saarland for her achievements at the U23 World Championships , and in her home town she was allowed to sign the golden book. She wrote: “Life is now, I don't need a future, life is always right now. And now I can redesign it. "
