Veles Bastion (English; Bulgarian рид Велес rid Weles ) is a 1200 m high and icy mountain on the Brabant Island in the Palmer Archipelago west of the Antarctic Peninsula . It forms the southwestern extension of the Stribog Mountains and rises 3.13 km east of Fleming Point , 10.15 km southwest of Mount Parry , 7 km west-northwest of Mount Imhotep and 2.77 km north of Mount Sarnegor . Its steep west, north and south-west slopes are partly ice-free. The Slatija Glacier is east and south of it.
British scientists mapped it in 1980 and 2008. The Bulgarian Commission for Antarctic Geographical Names named it in 2015 after the Slavic god Veles .
