The Velise ( Estonian Velise jõgi ) is a 75.7 km long river in Estonia . Its catchment area covers 852 km².

The Velise rises from the partially drained Imsi (Kereküla) moorland , about three kilometers northwest of the village of Lelle in the Rapla district . The first thousand meters of the river's course are straight, which indicates a ditch.

The Velise flows into the Vigala River in the village of Rumba ( Lääne County ) , whose left tributary it is. It is the longest tributary of the Vigala. The larger left tributaries of the Velise are the Nurtu , Naravere and Enge rivers and the Avaste stream.

The Velise is known for its abundance of fish. There are pike and perch on the middle reaches, and roach and perch on the lower reaches .
