action

Laure has cleared her apartment and will move in with her boyfriend François the next day. In the evening she wants to drive to her friend Marie and have dinner with her. On the way to Marie she gets into a big traffic jam because there is a strike in the local public transport. The radio advises people who are on foot to be offered a ride. So it happens that Laure offers Jean a place in her car when he asks. Laure and Jean have never seen each other before and hardly speak to each other. Nevertheless, Laure decides to spend the evening with him and not with Marie. She calls and cancels, pretending not to leave her home because of the strike. Jean accepts an invitation to dinner. Since the traffic jam persists, he takes the wheel and reverses out of the traffic jam and then into an area that is unfamiliar to Laure. She wants to get out, but he leaves the car because it is her vehicle. Reluctantly, Laure starts looking for Jean and finds him in a small pub. They both drink coffee and she notices that he is buying condoms from the vending machine.

After leaving the pub, the two of them kiss and eventually pay for a hotel room for the night where they sleep together. You eat in a pizzeria and return to the hotel. Laure withdraws into the bathroom and reflects on her situation; briefly, she imagines Jean as the future man at her side. Jean in turn goes to sleep and Laure lies down at his side. She hardly gets any sleep. When Jean wants to sleep with her again, she rejects him. Shortly afterwards she leaves the hotel, although she cannot wake Jean to say goodbye. She starts walking outdoors and finally smiles happily as she walks near her apartment.
