Venom Inc. is an English heavy metal band from Newcastle upon Tyne that was founded in 2015.
history
Venom Inc.'s history dates back to April 24th, 2015 when the group M-Pire of Evil played on the Keep It True . M-Pire of Evil is a project by former Venom members, in which they cover Venom songs or play songs in the style of this band when these members were still active in the group. At the performance, Jeff Dunn and Tony Dolan invited drummer Anthony Bray, another former Venom member, to play some old Venom songs at the festival, although Dunn and Bray hadn't spoken to each other in around 20 years. This spontaneous action led to the formation of Venom Inc., which consists of the Venom line-up from 1989 to 1992: Jeff "Mantas" Dunn as guitarist, Tony "Demolition Man" Dolan as singer and bassist and Anthony "Abaddon" Bray as drummer. The debut album Avé was released in 2017 . In the same year the band could be seen among other things on the Metaldays .
At the end of April 2018, Dunn suffered a myocardial infarction , which resulted in brief cardiac arrest . Dunn was then given double bypass and has since recovered from the infarct and the bypass surgery.
Since the beginning of 2018, Anthony "Abaddon" Bray took a break from band activities for the birth of his daughter. In September 2018, however, Abaddon announced that he would not be returning to the band. During his break, he learned that he was fired. His previous replacement, Jeramie Kling, would now be the band's new drummer.
style
In a rock-hard interview with Mandy Malon, Tony Dolan stated that Venom Inc. is more than a cover band. Rather, try to experiment and surprise with songs like your meat . In the same issue, Thomas Kupfer reviewed Avé . The album is not for "musical fine spirits", but offers "rowdy orgies of noise". The opening song Ave Satanas reveals the songwriting weaknesses of the album. In the song "[e] in an average, powerful mid-tempo chorus" is repeated, which does not improve it. Your meat is very reminiscent of Rammstein . Stephan Möller from Metal.de also reviewed the album and stated that it can be classified somewhere between the first wave of Black Metal and Speed Metal and Thrash Metal . This brings the term "Black'n'Roll" and a Motörhead comparison into his head. Compared to the Venom albums Black Metal and Welcome to Hell , Venom Inc. sounds a little rockier and more like Motörhead. In addition, the music has a more modern touch. Avé is "mature and probably the cleanest album that this constellation of musicians has ever recorded".
