The Bugatti Divo is a street legal super sports car from the French automobile manufacturer Bugatti Automobiles .

The vehicle is based on the Bugatti Chiron , is limited to 40 copies and named after the French racing driver Albert Divo . The purchase price is 5 million euros net .

Model history

The formal presentation of the vehicle took place in August 2018 at "The Quail: A Motorsports Gathering" as part of the Monterey Car Week . A group of customers who already own a Bugatti vehicle were shown it before this date. The vehicle was exhibited for the first time at a major vehicle fair at the Mondial Paris Motor Show .

Vehicle characteristics

body

The Divo generates more downforce than the Chiron in order to improve cornering behavior or to increase the possible lateral acceleration (up to 1.6 g , corresponds to 15.7 m / s²). To do this, Bugatti changed the air flow around the body. The front spoiler also generates more downforce and directs more air to the cooling system. The rear wing is 1.83 m wide and is 23 percent larger than that of the Chiron. It is adjustable and also serves as an air brake . In addition, the frontal area has been reduced. There were only minor changes in the interior. The Divo is 35 kg lighter than the Chiron thanks to its lighter wheels and new intercooler covers. However, it is homologated with the same empty weight of 1995 kg.

landing gear

The Divo's wheels are individually suspended on double wishbones . With a more direct steering and more negative wheel camber (the wheels of an axle are closer together at the top than at the bottom), the Divo is faster than the Chiron in corners. Because of the stronger wheel camber, Bugatti limits the top speed to 380 km / h.

drive

The W16 - Otto engine with 8 liters capacity with a maximum power of 1103 kW (1500 hp) and the drive concept with mid-engine and four-wheel drive were not changed. The Divo should be able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 2.4 seconds.
