VENUES is a post-hardcore band from Stuttgart founded in 2015 .

history

Founded VENUES in 2015 under the name Breakdown A Venue in the Baden-Wuerttemberg state capital Stuttgart . The band consists of singer Daniela 'Lela' Gruber, shouter Robin Baumann, the two guitarists Constantin and Toni, as well as bassist Florian and drummer Dennis.

In July 2015, Break Down A Venue released the EP titled after the band with three titles which was self-financed.

In February 2017, the musicians announced that the band had changed their name to VENUES . National concerts with groups such as Walking Dead on Broadway, Unleash the Sky and Breathe Atlantis were also announced. On April 20, 2018 it was announced that Arising Empire had signed the band.

The band's label debut, Aspire , was released on July 27, 2018 and became album of the week in Kerrang, UK !

On January 31, 2019, singer Nyves (real name Chrisi Krithinidou) announced in a statement on the band's social media channels that she was leaving the band with immediate effect in order to devote herself to other projects. As a result, the band canceled their tour with Our Mirage and Die Heart in February and March 2019 , as they wanted to look for a second singer. Nyves' successor, Daniela 'Lela' Gruber, was officially unveiled on the social media platforms on March 4th. At first it was said that she would join the band as an interim, but was confirmed as a full member of the band on April 17th on Facebook.

On October 12, 2019, the band announced that they would be writing new songs again.

music

The musicians themselves describe their music as post-hardcore , whereby they emphasize the female clear vocals of Nyves as a specialty. Due to the alternation of female clear vocals and shouting , the style is similar to that of the German melodic death metal band Deadlock . In their music, the musicians work with classic style elements of metal and post-hardcore and combine them with the singing of front woman Nyves.

On the label debut Aspire , the music is described as a change from alternative rock to modern metal structures. However, elements of pop music can also be heard in the music, with the music also being reminiscent of Evanescence in phases . Is compared VENUES with groups such Marmozets and PVRIS .
