Breathe Atlantis is an alternative rock band from Essen, founded in 2012 .
history
The group was founded in 2012 in the North Rhine-Westphalian city of Essen and currently consists of singer Nico Schiesewitz, guitarist Joschka Basteck, as well as bassist Jan Euler and drummer Markus Harazim. Basteck and Harazim previously played together in the rock band Emmy Shot a Unicorn , which released an EP during their active time.
On April 19, 2014, the debut album Shorelines was released, which the group financed out of pocket and brought onto the market without a record company. In the meantime, Breathe Atlantis have been signed by Redfield Records and released the second album Futurestories on the label in the summer of 2016 . The album was mastered and mixed by producer Dan Korneff in New York City .
In 2017 the quartet played two tours a. a. with Any Given Day, To the Rats and Wolves and Vita in Germany and Switzerland. Before that, the group played various concerts at the federal level. The group also played in the opening act for Memphis May Fire , Attila , Bury Tomorrow , Betraying the Martyrs , The Word Alive , Caliban, Hands Like Houses, Slaves and Callejon .
Together with Our Mirage , Breathe Atlantis are the support act for the European tour of the Swedish band Imminence , which will be played between December 5 and 22, 2018 in Germany, Austria , Switzerland , the Czech Republic , France and the Netherlands . In September 2018 it was announced that Breathe Atlantis had switched to Arising Empire and that their third album Soulmade will be released on the record label in early 2019 .
style
Musically, Breathe Atlantis can be assigned to alternative rock. Compared to the debut album, which is quite metal- heavy, the group relies on clear vocals, catchy hooklines and melodic guitar playing on the second album. The music is comparable to The Color Morale . Also, The Used and My Chemical Romance cited as musical influences.
