Venus Rising is an American action film released in 1995 . Directed by Leora Barish and Edgar Michael Bravo , the script was written by Leora Barish.
action
The action takes place in the 21st century. Most people are kept under control by drugs and virtual reality programs. Eve and Vegas escape from K314 prison and hide on an island in the Pacific . Eve kills a man who molests her and remembers similar harassment in previous years. She befriends the bisexual Maria, whose identity she adopts after Mary's suicide. Eve finds work as a waitress in a club.
The prisoners have persecuted the refugees. The couple is found and fights the persecutors, killing people in the process. Eve leaves Vegas for Nick, who is just as fascinated by virtual reality as she is.
Reviews
The TVGuide editorial team wrote that there had already been enough films about virtual reality such as Virtuosity in the past . The characters are "thin as paper" ; the performers would appear to have just woken up. Elsewhere, the main characters were described as "fashion zombies" . There are hardly any connections between the characters and the events.
backgrounds
The film was shot in Los Angeles and Hawaii .
