Vera Hohlfeld (born February 24, 1972 in Erfurt ) is a former German cyclist .

Cycling successes

From the mid-1990s to the early 2000s, Vera Hohlfeld was one of the strongest German road drivers. In 1995 she was German vice-champion on the road, in 1996 and 1997 she was able to repeat this placement. In 1996, she was on the Albert Richter velodrome in Cologne German vice-champion in the points race on the track .

In 1993 Vera Hohlfeld became German champion in the individual time trial and took second place in Rund um den Henninger Turm . In 1996 she won the World Cup race "Mallorca Tour" and came second in the overall ranking of the Tour of Thuringia , in which she participated twelve times and celebrated seven stage victories. She also won international stage victories in the Tour de Suisse and the Tour of Tuscany . In 1999 she won the Rund um die Nürnberg Altstadt , in 2000 she was third in the World Cup race in Philadelphia and in 2001 in the Bern Tour . Vera Hohlfeld won several stages at the Grande Boucle Féminine and the Giro d'Italia Femminile . She took part in a total of eight world championships and took fourth, seventh, tenth and twelfth place each.

In 1996 she took part in the Olympic Games in Atlanta in part, finishing in the road race in fourth place.

Vera Hohlfeld ended her professional career in 2003.

Professional

Vera Hohlfeld became self-employed in financial services and sports marketing. After five years of sports management at the International Thuringia Tour of Women , she took over the overall management in 2010. She also has this function with Schleizer-Dreieck-Jedermann . She has been the team leader of the maxx-solar LINDIG Women Cycling since 2019 .

She was also active in local politics in Erfurt.
