Vera Mahlke (born February 9, 1913 in Berlin ; † October 11, 1982 in Flensburg ) was a German dancer , choreographer , ballet master and dance teacher.

Vera Mahlke was the first solo dancer ( prima ballerina ) of the Saxon State Opera Dresden in the 1930s and later head of the chamber dance group of the city of Dresden . She provided ideas and choreographies for dance creations such as "danced painting " and "danced porcelain ", where she also appeared as a solo dancer. After the Second World War she tried to gain a foothold as a ballet master in Potsdam and Berlin , but had to struggle with great difficulties in the GDR .
