Verdict ( English "court ruling" ) was a German thrash metal band from Miltenberg in Lower Franconia.

history

The band, founded in 1991, played melodic death metal with a technical touch until 1997 . Due to a change of line-up and the temporary dissolution, there was only one demo release The Path in 1993.

After a renewed breakup in 1997 the two guitarists Peter Klaucke and Marius Pack completed the band with Daniel Baptista (vocals), David Helmstetter (bass) and Michael Zobel (drums). Due to the aggressive singing style of Daniel Baptista, which is sometimes reminiscent of Kreators Mille, there was a slight change in style towards Thrash Metal .

By the year 2000 Verdict achieved fame through live gigs in the then manageable underground scene. Before song material for a debut album was available, Peter Klaucke and Michael Zobel left the band for personal and professional reasons. The band has existed in its current line-up since summer 2001, supplemented by Florian Bauer (drums) and Heiko Montkowski (guitar).

The music got faster again and in June 2002 Verdict released Reflections of Pain, the first self-produced album.

The debut album met with a positive response from fans and the press and is stylistically comparable to Exodus , Kreator or earlier Death , Edge of Sanity . This was followed by appearances as opening act for Destruction , Disbelief , Illdisposed , Dew-Scented , Gorefest , Entombed , Death Angel .

In 2005, the second generation album followed, also self-produced : Genocide . With this the band received a distribution contract. The third album Assassin: Nation was released in October 2009. In April 2012, Heiko Montkowski announced that he was leaving Verdict. After almost a year of searching, a new guitarist was found in David Hadarik. In 2013 the album The Meaning of Isolation was released . The album was recorded independently and mastered by Dan Swanö .

In 2015 the band broke up.
