The Constitutional Court of Romania ( Romanian Curtea Constituțională a României ) is the highest court in Romania .

The court was created in 1948. It is located in the Romanian capital Bucharest in the Parliament Palace .

Nine judges are appointed for nine years each. A third of the judges are elected by the President , a third of the judges are elected by the Chamber of Deputies and a further third by the Romanian Senate . The powers of the Constitutional Court derive from the Romanian constitution .
