Vermaledeyt (from Middle High German vermaledîen : curse) was a German medieval band from Memmingen (Bavaria).
history
The band was founded in March 2004 under the name "Societas Morbis" and initially consisted of seven musicians.
In February 2005 Vivianne von der Saar joined as the eighth member. In the same year the first public appearances were made. So z. B. at the Festival of Minstrels in Waldreichenbach . Previously, the group performed mainly at private events.
Since 2006 the band has played regularly on medieval markets all over Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Among other things, Vermaledeyt was often seen at events of the Medieval Fantasy Spectaculum .
In the summer of 2007 Karl der Kessler left the group for professional and private reasons and since then the band has remained in its current line-up.
In August of the same year, the debut album Des Wahnsinns fette Beute was produced in the HOFA Studios, which was released on February 29, 2008. In the course of the changed line-up and the recording of the first album, the band decided to rename themselves "Vermaledeyt".
After the second album Relikt was released on April 1, 2010 , Vermaledeyt now played not only at numerous medieval markets but also at various festivals in Germany.
The third studio album SaltaNeo was released in April 2012 .
In 2014 the band communicated on their website that they would split up after about ten years of making music together and would henceforth go their separate ways. In the same year there was a farewell concert in the Kaminwerk in Memmingen.
