Verna Johnston
Verna Johnston (married McIntosh; born March 18, 1930 , † April 4, 2010 in Casterton , Victoria ) was an Australian sprinter and long jumper .
At the British Empire Games in Auckland in 1950 , she won bronze over 100 yards , was fifth over 220 yards, fourth in the long jump and won with the Australian team in the 440-yard relay and in the 660-yard relay.
In 1952 she was eighth in the long jump at the Olympic Games in Helsinki and came in fifth with the Australian team in the 4 x 100 meter relay .
In 1952 she became the Australian long jump champion.
