The administrative community Döbeln was an administrative community in the Free State of Saxony .

geography

It was located in the north of the Central Saxony district around the dominant district town of Döbeln, about 40 km northeast of Chemnitz and 45 km west of Dresden . The landscape of the community area was in the central Saxon hill country in a wide basin of the Freiberg Mulde and the Ebersbach to the south. The federal highways 175 and 169 cross here. The federal motorway 14 ran in the north of the administrative area and can be reached via the connections Döbeln-Nord and Döbeln-Ost . The railway lines Leipzig – Döbeln – Meißen (RB 110) and Chemnitz – Riesa – Elsterwerda (RB 45) run through the community area.

With the incorporation of Ebersbach to Döbeln on July 1, 2011, the administrative community was dissolved. Most recently it had an area of ​​39.44 km² and 21,607 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2008). The last administrative chairman was Axel Buschmann.
