In the administrative community Lützen-Wiesengrund , six municipalities of the Burgenland district were united to handle their administrative business. The administrative community was formed on January 1, 2005 from the dissolved administrative communities Lützen and Wiesengrund . and dissolved on January 1, 2011. The administrative seat was in the city of Lützen .

Since July 1, 2009 the original member community Röcken belonged to the city of Lützen. On January 1, 2010, the original member communities Großgörschen, Muschwitz, Poserna, Rippach and Starsiedel and the city of Lützen formed the new city of Lützen.
