The Meerane-Schönberg administrative association (until January 27, 2017 Meerane administrative association ) is an administrative association in the Free State of Saxony . It is located in the extreme north-western tip of Saxony and the district of Zwickau on the border with Thuringia, in a densely populated area on the north-western edge of the Erzgebirge basin . The district town of Zwickau is about 20 km south and the city of Glauchau about 8 km east of the community area. The federal motorway 4 , which runs south, can be reached via the Glauchau-West or Meerane connection . The federal highway 93 runs west of the municipality and the B 180 to the east .
