The administrative community Mering is located in the Swabian district of Aichach-Friedberg and is formed by the following communities:

  1. Mering , market , population 14,852, 26.83 km²
  2. Schmiechen , 1373 inhabitants, 13.49 km²
  3. Steindorf , 976 inhabitants, 16.2 km²

The administrative association is based in Mering.

The administrative community originally belonged to five communities. Merching was dismissed at his request with effect from January 1, 1980 and has had its own administration ever since. Effective January 1, 1994, the municipality of Ried regained full independence.
