The administrative community Pöttmes is located in the Swabian district of Aichach-Friedberg .

It was created on January 1, 1994 after the residents of Baar had long struggled to regain their independence. Baar (Swabia), previously part of the Thierhaupten market , became an independent municipality again and changed its membership from the Augsburg district to Aichach-Friedberg.

The administrative community has the following member communities:

  1. Pöttmes , market , 6853 inhabitants, 82.55 km²
  2. Baar (Swabia) , 1188 inhabitants, 16.91 km²

The administrative association is based in Pöttmes.
