chronology
- … Very 'eavy… very' umble Salisbury (1970)

… Very 'eavy… very' umble is the first studio album by the British rock band Uriah Heep . It first appeared on Vertigo Records in early 1970 .

Although Ken Hensley translated the term LP (Longplayer) as “Large Problem” in the preface to the record to describe the difficulties in creating the record (line-up change), … very 'eavy… very' umble is the one Uriah Heep started his career. The music critic Daevid Jehnzen writes about this beginning of his career: "[...] a heavy, stomp-rock delight."

The album cover with artwork by Robin Nicol (Design Machine) shows the head of Uriah Heep singer David Byron, which is surrounded by cobwebs. In the United States, the album was released under the name Uriah Heep and with a completely different cover artwork - a black and silver drawing of an alien - and had Bird of Prey instead of Lucy Blues on the tracklist.

While Melissa Mills stated in the music magazine Rolling Stone, in view of the first Uriah Heep album, “she would have to commit suicide if this group manages”, Donald A. Guarisco sees the All Music Guide in … very 'eavy… very' umble and the development of his own group sound "a very powerful result between heavy metal and the dramatic arrangements of progressive rock ".

In the UK, Uriah Heep's debut album failed to hit the LP charts. In Germany ... very 'eavy ... very' umble was more successful and at least made it to 22nd place. The US edition Uriah Heep came up to 186th place on the Billboard 200 .

Gypsy was released in some European countries and North America as a single with a running length of just under 3 minutes. In Europe on the B-side was the song Bird of Prey , the first track on the second Uriah Heep album Salisbury . In the United States and Canada, an edited version of Come Away Melinda was the B-side. Gypsy reached number 30 in the German single charts in 1971 and was also the B-side of the successful Uriah Heep singles The Wizard (Great Britain) and Easy Livin ' (Germany), both of which were featured on the album Demons And Wizards (1972 , Bronze Rec.).
