Bewitched
The Enchanted - International Queer Film Festival (official name until 2008) was founded in 1991 and toured every year in November / December through the four cities of Munich , Frankfurt am Main , Cologne and Berlin until 2011 .
history
In 2008 the festival took place for the first time in spring (April). From 2009 until the end of 2011 it was reduced to a film weekend without guests or prizes under the name Enchanted Queer Film Weekend . Last year it was no longer organized by Rosebud Entertainment, but solely by Rudolf Fürstberger. In 2012, Enchanted became a section in the newly founded Love Films Festival , which only took place once on a weekend in April 2012 as a preview of the future festival and has never taken place again since then.
Feature films and short films from all genres with a focus on lesbian / gay were shown . Since 1998 there has been the Rosebud Audience Award (audience award for the best feature and short film in each case). The short film programs Gay Propaganda Night and The Elle World ( Lesbian until 2004 - I take the liberty ) were among the popular programs of the festival. Previously shown specials and homages to Christine Vachon , François Ozon and intramovies. For some films there were audience discussions and personal film introductions by invited directors and actors, these took place mainly in Berlin. Traditionally, the festival was opened with a film, the opening night , and closed with the closing night .
Film productions from North America and Europe were most strongly represented in the festival program. Asian productions also found a platform more and more frequently. As a rule, all films were shown with the original sound and, in the case of non-English-language films, with English or, more rarely, German subtitles .
