Vester Pegg (born May 23, 1889 in Appleton City , Missouri , † February 19, 1951 in Los Angeles , California ) was an American actor .

Life

Vester Pegg appeared in about 140 films between 1912 and 1941, mostly in westerns and adventure films . In 1915 he had his first major role in the film The Lucky Transfer . In the same year he appeared in an unlisted supporting role in the monumental film The Birth of a Nation by David Wark Griffith .

Prior to her film career, Pegg was a member of the 101 Miller Ranch troupe , which performed Wild West shows, including guest appearances in Europe . In 1919, Pegg became the second actor in the Cisco Kid . For Hans Wollstein, Pegg came `` purely outwardly, because of his wild, almost forbidden appearance '' than this to the image of the good-bad guy intended by the Cisco Kid inventor O. Henry , which the Cisco Kid figure was supposed to represent for later more glamorous Cisco Kid actors like Cesar Romero or Duncan Renaldo . In one of his last film roles, Pegg appeared in John Ford's Western Stagecoach ( Ringo ), a film that brought numerous former silent movie stars back into the picture. Pegg was already involved in John Ford's early Cheyenne Harry silent film wests, starring Harry Carey , mostly in major supporting roles.
