The VfL Nauen is a German sports club based in Nauen in Havelland . The Brandenburg football department follows the tradition of Einheit Nauen . The association is a member of KSB, LSB, FLB, LVB, Turnerbund, LVB Cardiovascular Diseases, Association for the Disabled.
history
VfL Nauen was founded in 1950 under the name BSG Einheit Nauen and functioned as a company sports community within the sports association Einheit . Carrier operating the unit was the city administration Nauen.
History of the football department
1950–1991: BSG unit Nauen
On a sporting level, the outlying Berliners were initially integrated into the Berlin district class, and two years later into the Potsdam district class. In the 1952/53 season, Einheit Nauen qualified after victories over SG Weißensee and activist Finkenheerd for the first main round of the FDGB Cup , which was canceled due to the popular uprising of June 17, 1953 . In the following season, the cup competition was continued. Unit Nauen lost to Motor Nordhausen-West 2: 4 after a 5-1 victory over Dynamo Rostock in the second main round .
At league level Nauen succeeded in 1955 in the promotion round against progress Luckenwalde , Empor Südwest Potsdam and SG Velten the rise to the third or. fourth class district league Potsdam , which was held a total of 29 seasons. The rather financially weak sports association Einheit was not able to achieve promotion to the GDR league in Nauen either .
1991 - today: VfL Nauen
In 1991 the club was renamed VfL Nauen . From then on, VfL acted consistently in the national area. In 1993/94 the team won second place behind Union Potsdam in the regional class relay west. With 52:16 points, the club was just behind the season winner (53:15 points). For the following season, the club dominated the league and ended up in first place at the end of the year. This meant promotion to the Landesliga Staffel Nord. There the Nauen got along well and came in sixth. This made them the best newcomer in the league ahead of TSG Rot-Weiß Fredersdorf / Vogelsdorf (8th) and VfB Gramzow (9th). The club held this class until the summer of 2009. The VfL-Kicker achieved the best result of the season in 2006 when they finished third behind Oranienburger FC Eintracht and MSV 19 Rüdersdorf. This good result was achieved, although after the first half of the season only four victories could be achieved. With eleven successes in the return series, the club finally moved forward. VfL collected the most points since the introduction of the three-point rule in the summer of 1995 in 1997/98. Here, however, it was only enough for fourth place. After 15th place out of 16 teams in the 2008/09 season, the club had to go into the national class. There, the club regenerated again and took sixth place in the table in the first year after relegation.
Other departments
Other sports departments in the club are athletics , gymnastics and table tennis . All of these branches are still very young and have only recently been integrated into the club. Table tennis has been played since 2007. Between 2004 and 2007 there was a basketball department, but it was only dissolved again after a short time.
