Victor Antonio Tamayo Betancourt

Victor Antonio Tamayo Betancourt (born July 20, 1937 in Anori ) is a Colombian clergyman and auxiliary bishop emeritus in Barranquilla .

Life

The Bishop of Barranquilla , Germán Villa Gaviria CIM , ordained him priestly for the Diocese of Barranquilla on December 20, 1964 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop in Barranquilla and titular bishop of Voncariana on December 12, 2003 . The Archbishop of Barranquilla, Jesús Rubén Salazar Gómez , gave him episcopal ordination on January 24th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Beniamino Stella , Apostolic Nuncio in Colombia , and Hugo Eugenio Puccini Banfi ( Opus Dei ), Bishop of Santa Marta .

On November 14, 2017, Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation.
