Ugo Eugenio Puccini Banfi (born October 21, 1935 in Barranquilla ) is a Colombian clergyman and emeritus bishop of Santa Marta .

Life

Ugo Eugenio Puccini Banfi joined Opus Dei and was ordained a priest on August 27, 1967 .

Pope Paul VI appointed him on December 9, 1977 auxiliary bishop in Barranquilla and titular bishop of Oppidum Consilinum . He was ordained bishop by the Archbishop of Barranquilla, Germán Villa Gaviria CIM , on February 18 of the following year; Co- consecrators were Mario Revollo Bravo , Auxiliary Bishop in Bogotá , and Carlos José Ruiseco Vieira , Bishop of Montería . As a motto he chose Non Ministrari, sed Ministrare .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Santa Marta on December 4, 1987 .

On August 5, 2014, Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation.
