history
The diocese of Montería was on November 20, 1954 by Pope Pius XII. Erected from cessions of territory by the Archdiocese of Cartagena and the Apostolic Vicariate of San Jorge . It was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Cartagena as a suffragan .
