Victor Huster

Victor Huster (born January 8, 1955 in Baden-Baden ) is a German medalist .

Life

Victor Huster began to mint his first medals at the age of 17. This was followed by training and studies in jewelry design, plastic , engraving , goldsmithing , tool making and industrial embossing technology. At the age of 21 he started his own business and in 1977 he opened his own art mint. In the 1980s he worked as a freelance artist in Israel . Here he designed u. a. the 1 shekel coin of Israel.

Some of his works are kept in the Landesmuseum Württemberg in Stuttgart, in the Münzkabinett Berlin and in the British Museum in London.

Huster designed a. a. 1982 the 5 DM commemorative coin “10 Years of the United Nations Environment Conference” and the 10 Euro commemorative coins “100 Years of the German Museum in Munich” (2003), “100 Years of the German National Library” (2012) and “300 Years of the Fahrenheit Scale” (2014).

On October 6, 2012, Victor Huster was awarded the German Medalist Prize by the German Society for Medal Art and the City of Suhl .
