Vidar Riseth (born April 21, 1972 in Frosta , Norway ) is a former Norwegian football player.

The midfielder began his career at Neset FK and came to TSV 1860 Munich via Rosenborg BK , Kongsvinger IL , Luton Town , LASK Linz and Celtic Glasgow . In the Bundesliga he came to 53 games in which he scored 3 goals. He then returned to Rosenborg BK. At the end of 2007 he changed surprisingly - as he himself stated, for family reasons - to the Norwegian first division club Lillestrøm SK .

In the Norwegian national team he was used 52 times and scored four goals. He was part of the Norwegian squad for the 1998 World Cup and the 2000 European Championship.

The unsuccessful qualifications for the 2002 FIFA World Cup , Euro 2004 , 2006 FIFA World Cup and the European Football Championship in 2008 , he was also with us. He made his last international match on November 21, 2007 in a 4-1 in Ta'Qali against Malta.

Oddities

Riseth was transferred to Celtic Glasgow in Scotland in 1998. The proud transfer fee for him was around 2.2 million euros. The money for this never ended up in the LASK account, but rather disappeared in the course of the Rieger affair .
