Vidhaata ( Hindi : विधाता, vidhātā ) is a 1982 Indian feature film by Subhash Ghai .

action

Shamsher Singh is a rich man of great influence. His son Pratap Singh, a policeman, was killed by gang boss Jagawar Chaudhary at a young age, leaving behind a son, Kunal Singh, who now lives with his grandfather. Kunal is raised by the old, loyal worker Abu Baba.

Kunal grows up happily and falls in love with poor Durga, who lives alone with her mother. When Kunal wants to introduce his girlfriend to his family, Shamsher is not exactly thrilled because they live in poverty. He asks Durga's mother to keep her daughter away from Kunal. Both now want to leave the house, but are harassed. Abu Baba comes to their aid and is then killed.

Kunal is upset and vows to avenge Abu Baba's death. His research leads to his grandfather, who appears to be leading a double life. Eventually, Kunal finds out that Shamsher's members are none other than the murderers of his father Pratap. Back then, Shamsher was a simple train driver who got involved in the crooked business of Boss Mizia in order to be able to finance the future of Kunal.

Jagawar sees the family disputes as an opportunity to usurp the Mizia Syndicate. Ultimately, Shamsher takes Kunal's side and fights the villains. Shamsher's former rail colleague Gurubaksh is there to help. Shootings break out, with Shamsher and Jagawar killed. The film ends with Shamsher's funeral, at which Gurubaksh, Kunal and Durga mourn.
