Vidual is a locality and former municipality in Portugal . It is located at the Santa Luzia dam .
history
Vidual became an independent municipality in the district of Fajão in 1815 , by splitting off from the municipality of Unhais-o-Velho . After the Fajão district was dissolved in 1855, Vidual became part of the Pampilhosa da Serra district.
With the construction of the Santa Luzia dam by 1942, part of the community went under in the water. The village of Vidual de Baixo had to be relocated and was re-inaugurated as Casal da Lapa in 1943.
Since 2013, Vidual and Fajão have been part of a community.

Vidual was an independent community ( freguesia ) in the district ( concelho ) of Pampilhosa da Serra . On June 30, 2011 the community had 82 inhabitants on an area of 13.8 km².
The municipality essentially consisted of two localities:
- Casal da Lapa (formerly Vidual de Baixo , "lower Vidual", until the village was relocated in 1943 after the dam was built)
- Vidual (formerly Vidual de Cima , "upper Vidual")
In the course of the municipal reorganization of Portugal on September 29, 2013, the municipality of Vidual was merged with Fajão to form the new municipality Fajão - Vidual . Fajão became the seat of the new community.
