Vrij Historically Onderzoek

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The association Vrij Historisch Onderzoek (VHO short; Dutch "Free Historical Research" or "Free Historical Investigation") is a right-wing extremist organization based in Belgium Antwerp ( Flanders ). It was founded in 1985 by the brothers Siegfried Verbeke and Herbert Verbeke . The activities of the VHO are largely led by Siegfried Verbeke. According to the Federal Ministry of the Interior's 2004 report for the protection of the constitution, their activities declined, which is attributed to financial problems and the increased action of the Belgian police.

The website operated by the VHO was largely maintained by Germar Rudolf and offers a large number of Holocaust-denying texts. Right-wing extremist books and writings can be ordered via linked mailorder catalogs, most of which are indexed in Germany and have been confiscated . The VHO website counts itself among the "largest revisionist websites in the world". The website is officially owned by Castle Hill Publishing in Hastings ( England ).

Quarterly issues for free historical research

The first edition of the Vierteljahreshefte für free historical research (VffG) was published by the VHO in March 1997 and sent from Belgium , partly unsolicited. Germar Rudolf has published the magazine since 1998 with his UK-based publisher Castle Hill Publishers ; Rudolf is also editor-in-chief of the VffG.

In addition, the VHO has been the publisher of The Revisionist magazine since 2002, together with the CODOH . The Office for the Protection of the Constitution classifies the quarterly issues as a “pseudo-scientific publication” in which “primarily the genocide of European Jews is denied and German war crimes are relativized”.

Support from other right-wing extremist associations

The VHO leader Siegfried Verbeke, who was later convicted of Holocaust denial, was supported by a donation from the right-wing extremist Dutch and Flemish association Voorpost in 2005 .
